What You Learn
At Colorado Diver Training our goal is to make sure you have FUN and become a SAFE Diver. As everyone learns at a different pace, this course is performance based, therefore, the length of the course depends upon student skill.
The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:
- Knowledge Development to understand basic principles of scuba diving
- Confined Water Dives to learn basic scuba skills
- Open Water Dives to review your skills and explore!
Knowledge Development - This includes self study and when you are ready you will attend one class session. Our small intimate classes and home study materials, guarantee an easy and comfortable learning experience. Self study allows you to learn at your own pace before coming to class. Class can be done in one day.
Confined Water Dives (Pool) - During your pool sessions you'll practice and master the skills that you need as a diver during your Open Water Dives, with your instructor devoting the maximum time to teach you fun, safe diving.
Open Water Dives - In order to receive your certification you'll make four scuba dives over a period of two days with your PADI Instructor in an actual diving environment. During your Open Water Dives, you'll have fun applying and demonstrating the skills you learned in the course; plus you'll be able to put these skills to actual use while you experience the thrill of visiting the underwater world. These dives are conducted at various dive sites depending on the time of year and your preference. Just click on the options below to learn more about these options.
